Fall Special

I've had lots of people in the past week or two inquire about a photo session for fall, so I got the idea to set up a big group type session.

October 22nd at Stocksdale Park, 5-7 on the hour and half hour - benefit of this location is that it's in Liberty
October 23rd at English Landing Park in Parkville, 4-7 on the hour and half hour - benefit of this location is that there are tons of trees so I picture lots of fall-colored leaves

Differences between this and a normal session:
--price: only $30 (normal sessions are $45)
--your family will have 20 minutes (normal sessions have 45)
--we will start with a family portrait since most people are wanting that for holiday cards - if it goes fast we'll use the remaining time for individual shots of your kids, couple shots, etc
--there will be one spot (normal sessions we switch to several different background options)
--you will still get all your pictures on a CD to print as you wish, upload to make cards, etc (around the first of November so you can order cards and have them  ready to mail out by the beginning of December)

If all the time slots fill up, I can open up a 3rd day option.  If there are gaps in the times I'll adjust them.

I am still offering full, normal sessions if you would like more time, picking your own location, etc.  Just let me know if you're interested so I can get you on my schedule before things fill up.

Mr Q, 9 months

It was so fun to do 9 month old pictures - he did a great job - first he was mesmerized by the train:
Then he was easy-going but serious.  And doesn't he look old in this next one?
But we did get some smiles - all he needed was a leaf to shake!
I'm partial to pics where the camera is pointing down on the subject - I just love the "Look Up" look:

And even when he was crawling around we got some good pictures.

What fun - a picture with the family pet:

The location was English Landing Park.  It overlooks the Missouri River.

Mr. Q

This little guy was so agreeable!  More of his pics to come, but I just LOVE this feet one:

Wedding Couple Pics

Just so you know, it was SUPER hot, so everyone was brave to endure outdoor pictures at all.  I think we rushed through them, but I still think there were some good pictures.  This one is probably my favorite:
One at sunset:
A more casual, playful look:
And then, the from behind shot, which I really like as well:

Wedding Ceremony Pics

I took tons of pictures, but here are just a couple - the bride coming down the aisle:
And the "now you may kiss the bride" moment:
Big CONGRATS to the happy couple - their couple pictures will be up tomorrow, so check back...

Ring Bearer

I was the photographer for my brother's wedding last weekend.  Still working on those pictures, but I couldn't wait to share this gem:
Such a cute little guy, happy all event long - except for his walk down the aisle.

Back-to-School

Just a reminder, mix up the traditional back-to-school pics with a "now give me a crazy-face" type of picture.

Self-Portrait

I have a craft blog where I like to have my picture (so people know the face behind the blog) - the blog is turqouise, so I used the background paper to match:
Afterwards I had my son take a picture of Trevor and I - - don't forget to take couples' pictures occassionally:

D Boys

I love the carefree feel of the picture below - just brothers having fun.  It's great when we can take a short break during a photo session to skip rocks, yet still get some good pictures.
The boys did a great job putting up with getting their picture taken:

D Family

We've had lots going on lately, and on top of that we've had sickness at our house - so it took me a little longer than normal to have these pictures ready.  But now I'm way excited to share them with you - the family did a great job and I think they got lots of good pictures.
The location is Wallace State Park and there were several fun spots to take pictures.
The timing was great too - just as the sun was going down.  Made the water look great.
More of the boys to come tomorrow...

Big Group, W Family, post 3

And just a couple more from smaller groups after we did the big groups:

I like how he's waving to us and she's showing her shy side - - not the smiles that you get in some pictures, but it's fun to capture different sides of the kids' personalities.

Big Group, W Family, post 2

See, I told you it was a pretty big group.  They all did a really good job cooperating.  I am loving this "family pod" look in the picture above.  The location was taken at William Jewell Campus.  I also took a more traditional one:

Big Group, W Family, part 1

I had the challenge of doing big group photography - 5 siblings, their families, parents, etc.  Before the big group, while we were still waiting for a few to arrive, I broke off and took some of just this family.  They did a great job.  Once their little girl had a flower to hold she was happy (she didn't like marshmellows!  that's our usual plan-of-attack).
I think this is just too cute - when she's in school and has to bring in a picture of herself and her parents when she was little, I hope she picks this one:
And her is one of her solo picks - also cute!
Part 2 from this photo shoot to come, stay tuned....

Baby A Maternity

I had fun doing a Maternity Photo Session last week.  It was super hot and to make it worse we picked the afternoon to take pictures.  Good thing we found some shade.  Here are a couple of my favorites:

I like how this is a different angle than normal - adds some interest but still shows off baby.
And how about this one, soon-to-be-sisters:

F Family

My first official post - I debated whether I should go back and post some of my recent photo shoots from this month and last, but I decided to just start with the present.  We had a great time photographing this fun family.  The location was Hodge Park, and they braved the walk in the heat of the day.  Taking pictures in the day is tricky, but I think we got some good shots.  This is my favorite family one:
They were a great easy-going family.  I'm sure it is because of these two:
The boys were so good!  Pictures are hard for young children, but they did amazing!
My favorites of the whole day were the individuals of the boys:
